Florence H. Middleton

	Florence H. Middleton, age 91, of 301 West Chester, Pinckneyville, passed away at her home on Monday evening, October 22, 2001 at 10:10 p.m., surrounded by her husband and children.
	Florence was born in St. Louis, Mo. October 15, 1910, the daughter of Charles Frederick and Anna (Robinson) Hales.  She was a graduate of St. Elizabeths Academy in St. Louis, Mo. and was united in marriage on December 18, 1937 in St. Louis, Mo. to Lloyd Middleton and he survives.  Florence has been a resident of Pinckneyville since 1949.  She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville and also a member of the Catholic Daughters.  Florence belonged to several card clubs, was an avid golfer, assisted her husband in his law practice and was devoted to her husband, children and family.
	Florence is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Pinckneyville; two sons, Daniel Middleton and his wife Mary Elaine of Millstadt; James Middleton and wife Annetta of Coffeen; two daughters, Mary Roe and husband Dr. Charles  Bill of Pinckneyville, Margaret Peg Pursell and husband Ed of DuQuoin; a sister, Catherine Hales Fischer of Tempe, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren, Margot Holt and husband Dennis of Highland, Michelle Hensel and husband Rick of Millstadt, Melissa Stump and husband Matt of Indianapolis, Ind., Dr. David Roe and wife Lauri of Indianapolis, Ind., Sarah Sise and husband Dan of St. Louis, Mo., Julie Roe of Indianapolis, Ind., Andrea Restoff and husband Danny of Tamaroa, James Middleton of Nashville, Anthony, Aaron and Ameelya Kull, all of Coffeen, Eddie and Douglas Pursell, Both of DuQuoin, Richard Hicks of St. Louis, Mo. and Robert Hicks and wife Trish of Safety Harbor, Fla.; eight great-grandchildren, Tanya, Nicole and Adam Holt, Cole Hensel, Madison, Morgan and Camden Roe, Margaret Mary Maggie Sise and Shane Hicks.  Florence was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nancy Hicks and a son-in-law, Richard Hicks; two sisters and two brothers.
	Funeral mass was held at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville Thursday morning, October 25 at 10 a.m. with Father Jim Nall officiating.  Interment was in the St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.
	Friends called at the St. Bruno Catholic Church Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until services.
	The Rosary was said at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church.
	 Memorials may be made to the St. Bruno Catholic Church or the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation in memory of Nancy Middleton Hicks.
	 Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville was in charge of arrangements.
